BIO:
Atlanta rapstress Cover Girl has been entertaining audiences as early as she can remember. At the age of 5, she discovered her power to hold people’s attention when she belted out her first rap song for family and friends. “Concerts” like these were the start of many professional performances to come, and a competitive career in the city known as the southern rap mecca.

Cover Girl became serious about pursuing her talent after recording her first song, which happened accidentally. “I was messing around the in studio and started rapping on a beat that was playing,” she remembers. “I didn’t know how to work the equipment so I had no idea someone was recording it. When they played it back, I loved it.”

She continued writing and soon came up with the concept for “Gucci P*ssy,” a song she took to producer Mike Will (“East Atl 6” Gucci Mane, “Tupac Back” Meek Mill). Once the beat was made, the song became Cover Girl’s first single. She brought her hit to the club and won at several open mic performances. Soon after she was back in the lab with her second hit, and current single, “What’s Up.”

“What’s Up” was a big break for Cover Girl. The attention-grabbing fight anthem caught on fast, and she added Brick Squad’s Slim Dunkin to the song. The video premiered on WorldStarHipHop, gaining worldwide exposure to Cover Girl’s resume. She also recorded another popular song with Slim Dunkin and Da KID called “Ain’t Talm Bout Sh*t”, which also aired on WorldStarHipHop.

The buzz from “What’s Up” has allowed Cover Girl and her all-female crew to open shows for Rocko, Waka Flocka and other Brick Squad artists, Tity Boi, Young Dro, Travis Porter, Shawty Lo, Gorilla Zoe, CTE’s No Line Gang, Treal N Prince, Gangsta Boo, Khia, Mac Bre-Z, Trina, as well as headline her own gigs.

With the song in circulation and her debut project in the works, Cover Girl is focused on fine-tuning her business plans so she can reach the next level. Already graduating magna cum-laude with a degree in criminal justice, she is attending UGA for her 2nd degree. The street-savvy yet sophisticated rapper believes in always setting higher goals. “I’m on my grind to the top,” she says confidently. “There is no other like me.”

Top 5 Tips to Build Wealth and Success FIND OUT @SMARTERHIPHOP

Top 5 Tips to Build Wealth and Success

Warren Buffett is worth $45 billion. That wealth isn't only a factor of savvy investing and good business — the "Oracle of Omaha" is also known as a penny pincher. Buffett still lives in the same Omaha, Neb., home he bought in 1958 for $31,500.
Follow his frugal formula, and you too may wind up with a lot more money than you ever dreamed.
This week Financially Fit covers five tips to build wealth and success.
1. Live Below Your Means.
Being wealthy isn't just a product of your salary or investment prowess; it's learning how to save.
"We can make a lot of money, you can make a little bit of money, but the second you spend all the money is when people get into trouble. Saving is the key to preserving your wealth," says Ed Butowsky, managing partner of Chapwood Capital Investment Management, a firm that manages money for wealthy individuals.
As many Americans realized during the booming real estate market, just because you think you can afford something doesn't mean you should buy it. Keeping an eye on your bottom line will pay dividends over the long term.

2. Bounce Back From Defeat
With nearly 15 million workers unemployed right now in the U.S., it's easy to get discouraged. Don't! Most successful and wealthy people have overcome obstacles and failure along the way. Steve Jobs was ousted from Apple when he was 30. Today, he's a billionaire and a legend. Plus, after getting fired, he created another billion-dollar media company, Pixar.
"Bouncing back from defeat is something all great achievers have. They have this undying belief good things will happen and will continue to happen," says Butowsky.
Take Michael Jordan. "His airness" was cut from his high school basketball team. Motivated by the rejection, Jordan became a star the next season. The rest is history.
3. Self-Promote
Regardless of the profession, the rich and successful tend to have a strong sense of self-worth — key to skillfully navigating an upward career path. Mark Hurd, who was ousted as CEO of Hewlett-Packard in August, couldn't be kept down for long. Using his business skills and connections, in September, Hurd was named president of Oracle. (Hurd and Oracle founder Larry Ellison are known to be close friends.)
4. Have Street Smarts
Bernie Madoff lived the high life for decades, scamming unsuspecting clients, with a money-making formula that proved too good to be true. Only afterward did we learn that with a little due diligence, most clients could have easily uncovered the fraud.
But it's not only the swindlers and the con men you have to watch out for. Many times, friends and family take advantage of the rich. Whether it's a handout or an investment idea, Butowsky advises his high net worth clients that in most cases, it's wisest to just say "no." The best way to do that: have someone else do it for you.
"You need to really set up a wall between you and your family," he advises. "If you don't want to give them (family or friends) money ... saying no is probably a good idea."
5. Buy Cheap
The rich can afford to splurge, but that doesn't mean they do.
John Paulson, a billionaire hedge fund manager, bought his Hamptons "dream house at a bargain basement price," according to Greg Zuckerman, author of the Paulson-based book, "The Greatest Trade Ever." The story has it that Paulson eyed the home while it was in foreclosure. Finally, on a rain-soaked day, he purchased the home on the Southampton town hall steps. He was the only bidder.
On New York City's Upper East Side, Michael's— The Consignment Shop for Women— has been a bargain-hunting destination for more than 60 years. "We have a good percentage of women who can afford to shop on Madison Avenue but really like the idea of saving that money," says proprietor Tammy Gates.
From Chanel to Gucci and Louis Vuitton, the store specializes in high-end designer merchandise for a reasonable price. Speaking of her clientele, Gates says, "they're wealthy for a reason. They recognize that bargains keep people wealthy. Paying top dollar when you don't have to doesn't make sense."

Prince Waleed's Car: No Pain at the Gas Pump for Him!

Prince Waleed of Saudi Arabia got a new car. When you’re filling up your gas tank, give a thought to Prince Waleed’s needs! See photos below.

Saudi Prince Waleed Bin Talal got himself his 38th car. He personalized it a little, just a few add-ons. You know, to give it some bling-bling. The Mercedes SL600 is diamond-studded, mink-furnished and cost him a mere $4.8 million. Pocket change!
Can you imagine what the Prince looks like driving down the road in that? Does he drive it down the road? I just know I’d be standing on the sidewalk hoping a diamond would come loose and fall off about the time he drove past me.
Give this a thought when you are filling up your gas tank …. I’m sure he appreciates your contribution to his wealth.

Five Things Atlanta Does WELL - find out @smarterhiphop

Atlanta scores best marks on business hotels, barbecue and luxury stores

Atlanta took one on the chin a few weeks back when it ranked as the ninth dirtiest city, according to a Travel+Leisure survey. But that same survey of 35 U.S. cities found some silver lining in the ATL cloud. Here's a quick snapshot of the magazine's profile of Atlanta.
Five things that rank relatively high for the city of Atlanta, according to visitors:
Atlanta ranks eighth among all cities in business hotels and top in the region. Chicago is No. 1 in that category. Perhaps a tad low on the survey, Atlanta is No. 10 in barbecue, but there are also some solid cities in the top 10, Memphis being the best. Fellow Georgian city Savannah ranks sixth.
Atlanta is also home to great luxury stores, ranking 13th, according to the survey. New York City, Las Vegas, and Chicago are Nos. 1, 2, and 3.
Staying along the same line of assets, Atlanta ranked in the top 15 in home decor and design stores. New York City (again) was No. 1.
And finally, Atlanta ranked No. 16 in the survey of big-name luxury hotels. Las Vegas and NYC were 1 and 2, in that order.
In all, the rankings are low across the board for Atlanta. There is one neat feature in which you can pit cities against each other in a faceoff for best overall designation. We tried Atlanta vs. Savannah. We don't want to give away too much, but the winner rhymes with "Schmavannah."
So what do you think? Fair assessment or a case of those folks not understanding what's to like here?

homeless man get a very BIG inheritance - Find out @smarterhiphop

Private eye tells homeless man of inheritance

SALT LAKE CITY – A private investigator says he has tracked down a homeless Utah man and delivered some good news: He's inherited a lot of money.
David Lundberg said he found Max Melitzer pushing a shopping cart filled with personal possessions in a Salt Lake City park Saturday afternoon.
Lundberg declined to disclose how much money Melitzer will be receiving, but said the man's brother who died of cancer last year left him a "significant" amount in his will.
"He'll no longer be living on the street or in abandoned storage sheds," he told The Associated Press. "He'll be able to have a normal life, and be able to have a home, provide for himself, and purchase clothing, food and health care."
The story about Lundberg's two-month search for Lundberg has been reported by the Deseret News and KSL of Salt Lake City.
Lundberg said he was hired by the family's New York law firm to locate Melitzer, and some family members plan to meet Melitzer next week in Salt Lake City. He declined to identify them.
Melitzer's family wishes to remain private, and lawyers are deferring questions to Lundberg.
The investigator said he broke the news to Melitzer while they were sitting on a bench at Pioneer Park. While Lundberg said he didn't tell Melitzer how much money he was inheriting, the man was excited.
"He's still in shock. This came out of nowhere," Lundberg said. "He's a really mellow guy in his 60s, very sweet and more articulate than I thought for a man in his position."
Melitzer has been homeless for years and last had mail correspondence with his family in September. But when family members gave him a number to phone, he never called.
Don Hill, house manager at the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, told Lundberg on Friday that he had seen Melitzer near the facility two days earlier.
Hill said he has known the homeless man for four years, and Melitzer stayed at places like the Rescue Mission when he's not roaming between Salt Lake City and Ogden.
"During the summer, I'd imagine, once in a while he'll stay out nights — outside," Hill told the Deseret News.
Earlier this month, a police officer found Melitzer sleeping in a car in an Ogden salvage yard.
Lundberg said Melitzer was taken Saturday to an undisclosed location in Salt Lake City and doesn't want to talk to the media right now. But Lundberg said he would talk to family members about possibly holding a news conference next week.
The investigator said he found Melitzer with the help of a tip. He received about 60 or 70 such calls after news about his search went out Friday.
"Someone called today (Saturday) and said they saw him at Pioneer Park. I thought it was another crazy tip, but sure enough, there he was," Lundberg said.

$19.9 million Atlanta mansion quite the movie star

$19.9 million Atlanta mansion quite the movie star

The most expensive home currently on the market in Metro Atlanta is turning into quite the movie star.
The once-$25 million home at 490 West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta was the site of "The Three Stooges" filming last week and is already known for its role in the 2009 film "Zombieland," which filmed extensively in the Atlanta area. The mansion's crazy-cool pool was featured in January on HGTV's "Million Dollar Rooms."

The asking price for the mansion has dropped to $19.9 million, which is still the most expensive home for sale within 50 miles of Atlanta. The home has nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms with a lot size of 2 to 3 acres. It was built in 2008.
From the website at Sotheby's Atlanta Fine Homes: "Ideal for lavish entertaining, this private resort features seven full kitchens, two gyms, a ballroom, recording studio, hair salon, nail salon, wellness center, cigar room and a theater." It also mentions the enormous "breath-taking courtyard pool" that caught the fancy of HGTV.
The home is considered a single-family home built for entertainment, said listing agent Mark Bhaggan with Sotheby's Atlanta Fine Homes.
Atlanta photographer Andrew Snook said "Stooges" has been filming at the mansion for at least a week. The movie started filming in Cartersvillle during the second week of May. Snook took exclusive early photos of the actors in their "Stooges" get-up. "Three Stooges" is an anticipated remake by the Farrelly Brothers.
In the cult comedy classic "Zombieland," the mansion is the Hollywood home of Bill Murray, who had a surprise cameo in the film. Hookedonhouses.net has some cool movie shots of the mansion juxtaposed against the listings.
